why hello there!
ever since i can remember, i've loved to create -- whether that be through art, music, writing, you name it. in high school, i got really into writing & decided to start a blog. it was my way of journaling & just putting my thoughts onto paper (or rather, out into the internet). i'd share random thoughts, music i was loving at the moment, & essays i wrote for school. but as i grew up, i forgot more & more about my blog.
i feel like that happens to a lot of us. as we grow up, we lose sight of our dreams & the things that excite us or that we feel passionate about. they get tucked away into a far corner of our mind, collecting dust as time goes on. we become conditioned to focus on the things that will make us successful, the things that we can make good money off of, the things that are secure & don't involve risk. we call it becoming an adult.
as a kid, i looked forward to becoming an adult someday. to me, adulthood was freedom to chase your dreams & accomplish anything you could set your mind to. the opportunities seemed endless for adults! but now that i am one, i've fallen prey to the trap that ensnares many adults in the world -- chasing money, following some foreordained path to success without giving it another thought. & this often leads to unhappiness. there isn't substance in living to make money -- we should be making money so that we can live.
i began to catch sight of those dreams i had as a kid, remembering that i had always wanted to be an esthetician, that i had always wanted to be in a place where i could help people & make their day, that i had always wanted to make a difference in the world. & so i began to listen to my childhood self & dust off my dreams, picking them up from their dusty shelf.
i'm learning that it's okay to shoot for the stars & miss. you can always try again. failure just helps you learn different ways not to accomplish something -- it shouldn't keep you from moving forward & trying again. i know, it can be scary. where's the safety, the security? but it is always worth it. & that's what has led me here.
i'm so excited you're here with me! i'll be sharing more about my esthetician journey, my favorite skin care products, going over the importance of gut health, answering any questions & concerns you might have, & allll things skin care (& more!). as i like to say, skin care is self care. ;) don't worry, we'll be talking more about that later. so bring those dusty dreams with you & let's make them shine together.
i believe in you.
